Volunteer Appreciation Week
April 8 - April 12, 2019
Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do at Robins’ Nest. From leading today’s youth by serving as mentors, to filling new backpacks with school supplies during our Backpack Drive, to assisting with gardening during Community Care Day, our volunteers are always willing to do whatever it takes to leave an impact on the lives of those we serve.
To celebrate this year’s Volunteer Appreciation Week, we asked a few of our special volunteers why they choose to volunteer at Robins’ Nest, and what volunteering with our organization means to them.
From Proverbs: "He who has health, has hope; and he who has hope, has everything." These words describe Robins Nest, its programs and staff and the services offered to children and families who suffer from mental illness, homelessness, parenting skills and many more. This is why I am so passionate about Robins Nest.
Barbara is a longtime volunteer with Robins’ Nest and serves on our gala committee each year as well as volunteering as part of our Santa’s Workshop.
“Volunteering at Robins’ Nest is special to me because I like helping the Helpers— the dedicated, committed staff who help families experiencing major setbacks, to reunite, regroup, renew hope, build confidence, and discover the path to a new beginning. They work so hard to assist so many in need and it’s a privilege and a pleasure to be part of their vital mission.”
Ellen is a frequent friendly face at Robins’ Nest, assisting our team with mailings and volunteering with our Backpack Drive and Santa’s Workshop each year.
"Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does." -William James
This quote embodies Robins' Nest. The employees, volunteers, donors and the entire Robins' Nest family make a difference every day in the lives of so many- empowering, assisting, caring, and providing services to our community. Thank you to all who make a difference, and thank you for allowing me to be a part of the Robins' Nest family.
Stacey is a dedicated member of our Board of Directors and supports our annual fundraising initiatives including our gala, golf outing, and Backpack Drive.
“At Republic Bank, we believe strongly in giving back to the communities we serve. Robins’ Nest Charity provides important services to help teens and strengthen families throughout New Jersey. We are happy to support such a generous cause.”
Republic Bank volunteers are always willing to lend a helping hand to Robins’ Nest, and in the past have assisted with mailings, Community Care Day, and Backpack Drive.
We are truly inspired by the incredible generosity and support we received from our volunteers this year. Their time, talent, and treasure is invaluable to Robins’ Nest, and we couldn’t ask for a better group of individuals and organizations to advocate on behalf of the children, families, and community members we serve. Check out this year’s volunteer appreciation video below and join us in celebrating the amazing work of our volunteers!
