Dear Friends and Family,
On behalf of the Board of Trustees and our dedicated staff, I would like to thank you for your commitment to Acenda. Together, we are continuing to make a lasting impact in the lives of individuals, families and communities throughout New Jersey.
Acenda is also taking great strides in enhancing community collaborations to improve the lives and communities throughout New Jersey. Through a premier partnership with Rowan College of South Jersey, we will be able to support mental health and wellness for students and employees by giving them direct access to comprehensive counseling services as well as resources necessary to help them navigate their lives in a healthy way. The premier partnership benefits the state as a whole as there is a priority on building the workforce needed to support the increased mental health needs in our communities. There will be a direct connection employment program which creates a pathway to explore the numerous employment opportunities at our organization. Not only will this partnership ensure access to vital services, but we will be building the behavioral health workforce of the future.
In an effort to make New Jersey a healthier, more equitable state, Acenda participated in a highly competitive grant process and was awarded $1 million from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to serve as the incubator organization to launch the state’s first public health institute. This two-year grant will serve as the administrative, operational, and strategic home for the development of New Jersey’s Public Health Institute, joining 33 other states who are served by a public health institute, but the first to have advancing health equity as a founding priority.
At the heart of Acenda, providing quality care is our number one priority. In 2022, 16,180 infants, children, youth, adults, and families received top-quality care through our over 120 innovative programs, delivered by mission-driven, compassionate team members.
-Dr. Anthony DiFabio, President & CEO

Through our three divisions of care: Prevention, Children and Families, and Integrated Health, we provide support that is integrated, collaborative, and efficient to ensure we are meeting the needs of our communities and providing the vital services to support and strengthen the lives of the individuals and families living there.
In an effort to reduce and prevent the cycle of abuse and build happy, bright futures for at-risk children and families, our teams provide education to new parents to help guide them to raise healthy babies, host community-based workshops and activities designed to give families a place to build invaluable skills to help them become more self-sufficient and provide one on one support to youth who are transitioning into adulthood so that they are set up for success.
Designed to strengthen the family unit, our staff work alongside them to foster healthy relationships and improve family functioning through support, counseling, and advocacy.

Through this collaborative, community groups and individuals can apply for a microgrant, funded by the State, to address issues facing their communities as a result of ACEs. Once selected, the winning applicants receive guidance and technical assistance through the RAC to implement their initiative. In the first round, Acenda received 80 applications and awarded 6 microgrants in the southern region, totaling $677,122.00 in funding.
