Thank you for supporting Backpacks and Big Dreams!
Acenda’s 2026 Backpack Drive was a resounding success with the help and support of our incredible donors. Throughout the summer, we have collected hundreds of donated items from around New Jersey to provide to our community in preparation for the upcoming school year. From August 18 through 21, staff members were welcomed at Acenda’s headquarters to pick out their school supplies and backpacks for more than 500 children involved in our programs.
Highlights of the 2026 Backpack Drive
This year, our long-standing supporters and partners continued to show their support through donations of backpacks and school supplies. Their generosity allows us to provide for and make a positive impact on our community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our donors, including Tools for School, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, Haddonfield United Methodist Church, Busy B’s Square Dance Club, Environmental Resolutions, Inc. and Cape May County Library. Each contribution helped us to fill every backpack for the many children we serve.
Thank you to everyone who supported Acenda’s annual Backpack Drive this year. Every donation helps the children throughout our community to chase their big dreams this school year. Your contributions are deeply appreciated, by our team, providers and families.
Moving Forward
With the end of the 2026 Backpack Drive, we are beginning to work on Acenda’s Spirit of the Holidays toy drive! For A Flurry of Giving, our 31st toy drive, we are seeking to partner with long-standing and new donors to support the children and families we serve, spreading holiday magic to our community.
