Our Hospital-Based Violence Intervention Program (HVIP) is a free service that is part of our Hope & Healing Collaborative. HVIP can help you and your family heal the physical, emotional and social wounds from community violence.
Services are available to Inspira Health patients who are victims of a gunshot, stabbing or blunt force trauma. Individuals must reside in Cumberland and Gloucester Counties and be between the ages 10 – 50.
To Receive Services:
Inform your Inspira nurse of your interest in speaking with an Intervention Specialist
OR
While at Inspira or soon after discharge, inform Acenda’s Intervention Specialist you want to receive services.
How we Can Help:
Listen to your story and provide compassion, strength, and hope.
Assist in meeting immediate and short-term safety needs.
Assist in completing applications for crime compensation and other financial and/or housing supports.
Assist with transportation to follow up medical appointments.
Assist with linkages to resources and supports to address trauma-related needs.
Promote recovery and improvement of social and economic conditions.
Support we Provide:
Our Intervention Specialists provide in-hospital, bedside support, advocacy and linkages to resources.
Culturally responsive, strength-based, trauma-informed approach to explore and understand safety, medical, financial, legal ,psychological, employment and concrete needs.
Work with Inspira staff and Acenda’s HVIP Intervention Specialists to develop an effective discharge plan that addresses your needs.
Provide continued support post discharge to assist with safe return to the community.
