Mental Health Urgent Care

Mental Health Urgent Care, also known as Early Intervention Support Services (EISS), is a short-term program for immediate mental health outpatient assistance. Mental Health Urgent Care is a comfortable and welcoming alternative to hospital-based emergency treatment for those experiencing a mental health crisis. Clinicians provide immediate support and referrals for long-term treatment within 30 days.

    Providing support and guidance to help you cope with loss, process emotions, and begin to heal.

    Connecting you to important resources to guide you through your wellness journey. 

Eligibility

To be eligible for Mental Health Urgent Care services, you must: 

  • Be a resident of the county in which you are seeking service 
  • Be 18 years or older 

You are not eligible if your primary diagnosis is substance use, IDD, or Autism Spectrum Disorder.

What to Expect 

  • Reaching Out 

    You can contact Mental Health Urgent Care  by phone, online appointment request, or by visiting one of our two locations during office hours. A Mental Health Urgent Care staff member will help you schedule an appointment within 24 to 48 hours. Walk-ins are welcome, and same-day appointments may be available.

  • Intake Appointment 

    You will see a therapist for your intake appointment, followed by an Advanced Practice Nurse for your medication management. 

  • Moving Forward with Care

    You will have scheduled meetings with a therapist and advanced practice nurse for the next 30 days until a referral is made for long-term support services. 

FAQ’s

Do I have to have an appointment for mental health urgent care? 

Mental Health Urgent Care offers walk-in, same-day care.

Will EISS be covered by my insurance? 

Acenda will bill your insurance provider directly. If we don’t take your insurance, or if you have no insurance, services are free. 

Can my family members or my job find out that I’m coming to Mental Health Urgent Care (EISS) for treatment? 

Your family members and employer will only be permitted to know about your treatment if you sign a release of information, allowing them to contact us for specific information. Without the release, urgent care staff are not permitted to give anyone your information. 

Will I be sent to the hospital? 

Upon arrival, Mental Health Urgent Care staff will assess whether psychiatric screening is needed. In most cases, clients are able to be seen by EISS without the need for further psychiatric screening involvement. The care team works to helpr clients avoid hospitalization whenever possible.

What if I don’t have a phone or internet access for my online appointment with the APN? 

Care team members will provide a laptop and internet connection for use in case someone does not have technology or internet for online visits. Care team members will help to set you up in a private room at the urgent care building. 

How do I qualify for Mental Health Urgent Care (EISS)? 

To qualify for mental health urgent care services, you must: 

  • Be a resident of the county in which you are seeking service 
  • Be 18 years old or older
