How often will I meet with my case manager during the program?

Participants typically meet with their case manager once a week through virtual appointments. These meetings provide an opportunity to discuss progress, review goals, address challenges, and develop budgeting and financial management skills. Your case manager will also share resources and support to help strengthen your family’s long-term financial stability.

Do I need to have an emergency housing situation to qualify for services?

The program is intended to help families facing financial challenges that could affect housing stability or essential utilities. During the assessment process, a case manager will review your circumstances and determine whether the program is a good fit for your needs. Even if you do not qualify for financial assistance, staff may be able to connect you with other helpful community resources.

What types of financial assistance may be available through the program?

Depending on eligibility and available funding, the program may provide assistance with back-due rent, security deposits, or electric bills. A case manager will review your situation, discuss your needs, and determine what assistance may be available. Funding is not guaranteed, but the team will work with you to explore options and identify additional community resources when needed.

How can this program help me avoid future financial hardships?

In addition to short-term financial assistance, the program focuses on helping families build long-term stability. Participants work with a case manager to create a realistic budget, identify financial goals, strengthen money management skills, and connect with community resources. The goal is to help families develop tools and strategies that support future financial wellness and housing stability.

Can I participate in the program if I am currently receiving other forms of assistance?

Possibly. Receiving assistance from other programs does not automatically disqualify you from Gloucester County Prevention Program services. During the assessment process, a case manager will review your current supports, income, and financial situation to determine eligibility and identify the most appropriate resources to meet your needs.

What happens if I am not approved for financial assistance?

If you are not approved for assistance, a case manager will explain the reason and discuss other resources that may be available. Acenda is committed to helping families find support whenever possible and can provide referrals to community organizations, housing resources, financial assistance programs, and other services that may better meet your needs.
