ASURI
Acenda’s Adolescent Substance Use Recovery Initiative (ASURI) supports adolescents and their families through early identification and treatment of substance use. The program focuses on preventing escalation and addressing related challenges such as school disruption, housing instability, and involvement in the justice system.

Eligibility
To be eligible for ASURI, you must:
- Be between the ages 13 and 17
- Meet ASAM criteria for level 1.5 outpatient or need early intervention for substance use
What to Expect

Reaching Out
To request ASURI services, reach out to Acenda’s Access Center at 844-422-3632 ext 9500 and they will provide you with an appointment within 48 hours of your initial phone call.

Initial Meeting
After a comprehensive assessment, the adolescent and their family will receive a recommendation for the most appropriate level of care. You will start with group services, and the family will be connected with an ASURI case manager to identify additional support services needed.

Moving Forward with Care
Groups are primarily offered in person and meet 2–3 times per week, with sessions lasting 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Most participants can expect services to continue for approximately 3–6 months, depending on individual needs.

Do I need a referral to start services?
No, a referral is not required for services. Please call Acenda’s Access Center at 844-422-3632 ext. 9500 and they will provide you with an appointment within 48 hours of your initial phone call.
Is there a cost for services?
Yes, there is a cost to receive ASURI services. We accept insurance, Medicaid, and offer sliding scale fees and DCF funding for eligible participants.
Are services provided in-person, virtually, or both?
Case management and therapeutic services, including individual, group, and family counseling, are primarily provided in person.
Does ASURI offer transportation?
Yes. Transportation is available for services within a 30-mile radius.
Does ASURI have after school hours?
Yes, the groups are held after school. However, the one-time intake will be conducted during the day.
Does ASURI require urine drug screens?
Yes, urine drug screens are required for services.
How do I qualify for ASURI?
To be eligible for ASURI, you must:
