Summer is here and what better time than now to start planning some enjoyable activities for the entire family.  Whether it’s a trip to the beach, a walk through the park, preparing a seasonal meal, pitching a tent in the backyard, or playing games outdoors, the warm weather makes it the perfect time to get outside and have some fun. Just remember that when going out in public spaces, it’s important ttake all safety precautions that are being enforced.

Here are a few healthy activities that you and your family can do at home courtesy of our Family Success Centers.  There are lots of good ideas to keep the kids and adults busy throughout the summer months, including exercising, cooking, making crafts, or conducting a science experiment.

"Summer is an especially good time to plan activities both indoors and out,” said Cari Burke, FSC Program Director. “Kids do not have school work and can go to bed a bit later, making it the perfect time to find creative ways to stay busy, while keeping safety top of mind.”

So, take some time for yourself or with your family to enjoy leisure activities, that can also support learning and creativity!
