Visit a local museum

Did you know South Jersey has a rich history in the glass making industry? Our abundant sand, forest, and navigable waterways, lead to our area establishing the first successful glass factory in the nation.

You can visit the Heritage Glass Museum located in Glassboro for free, on Saturdays from 11AM - 2PM. Starting in April, families can also check out Wheaton’s Museum of American Glass in Millville with ticket prices ranging $7-$12.

Check out Rowan University’s Planetarium

Rowan University hosts a variety of immersive 360-degree video shows weekly with ticket prices ranging from $2-$5. Our personal favorite is Supervolcanoes. A recent show, narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, took viewers through the history and impact of these eruptions, flying to Neptune’s moon, Triton, Jupiter’s Moon Io, and returning home in Yellowstone National Park.

Interested in getting outdoors more and immersing yourself in nature? Checkout the Merlin Bird ID app. The Cornell Lab of Ornithology had a mission to help people find the answer to “what’s that bird?” With that, came the creation of the free, instant bird identification app, Merlin Bird ID.
