Pathways to Academic and Career Exploration to Success (PACES)

PACES is an in-home service that aims to support adolescents involved with the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) by providing effective transition practices to obtain a high school diploma and engage in post-secondary education, career exploration, vocational training, and other supports and services to assist the youth to secure employment.
Individuals must be between the ages of 16 and 21 and meet one of the requirements below to be eligible for the NJ Foster Care Scholars (NJFCS) program:
• For youth currently residing in DCP&P out-of-home placements, they must be between the ages of 15 and 16.
• Youth must have been adopted through DCP&P after age 12 or entered Kinship Legal Guardianship after age 16.
• For youth experiencing homelessness, they must reside or have recently resided in a Transitional Living program or independent living arrangement.
