Spread the Love this Valentine’s Day

Spread the Love this Valentine's Day

With Cupid sharpening his arrows and chocolate makers busy at work, another Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching. This holiday is a time to celebrate the love of family. Below are four fun ideas to celebrate with your partner, your kids and any other family members you wish.

1. Bake desserts together.

One of the best parts about Valentine's Day is enjoying an overload of sweetsIt’s one of the few days in the year that eating sugar is a good thing! Whether you and your family bake from scratch or from a box, baking is a bonding moment for everyone. Make brownies, chocolate covered strawberries, or heart-shaped cookies! The possibilities are endless.

2. Exchange sentimental gifts.

Gifts do not always have to be the most extravagant or pricey as long as they are made with love and care. Consider doing a “secret Valentine” with the whole family. The concept is similar to “Secret Santa” where everyone picks a family member’s name and gives a thoughtful gift to the person they selected. This allows the family to really think about each other’s interests. Everyone will end the day with a gift they really enjoy. Some gift ideas include making handmade jewelry, drawing a picture, writing a song, or making a card.

3. Enjoy a meal together.

Whether you cook at home or go out to your family’s favorite restaurant, this is a great way for the family to enjoy delicious foodhave great conversation with one another, and make wonderful memories. This is often a busy holiday, don’t forget to make a reservation in advance!

4. Have a game night.

Make the day last into the night by having a game night with the family. Everyone should bring his/her favorite game, including board games, trivia games, video games, and others. This gives everyone in the family a chance to participate in different activities.

The point of Valentine’s Day is to celebrate love no matter who you spend it with. Let this day bring happiness to you and your family.
