Why I Give - Krista Collings

Here's an insider's look into why Krista Collings has shared her time and talents to further our mission since 2016.
Why do you volunteer/donate?
Through community volunteering days, I loved that I could bring my young family to the events and that they could truly lend a hand. My kids look forward to volunteering as much as I do now. The volunteer coordinators do an excellent job at incorporating all age groups into the tasks needed. My children felt empowered and great work was done to create care packages for expected mothers with little family support.
In addition, through my employer, Republic Bank, we have been able to do corporate sponsorships to support at a larger level and also have participated in back pack drives in collecting and putting together supplies for young students in need.
When did you get involved with Acenda?
I became involved with Acenda because of the mission and people involved. I initially met Dr. DiFabio six years ago, through my career in banking. A routine introduction became much more, as I instantly saw his genuine passion and sincere commitment to the mission of the organization. I left inspired and wanting to help.
In your opinion, what is the more important work that Acenda does?
I have found Acenda to be a strong non-profit that hires its team based on passion for the cause and their incredible progress in caring for the community’s most vulnerable. Their team excels at making clients, volunteers, and employees feel welcome and gives them a chance to reach their full potential with the best resources.
Why is being a donor so important to you?
In these unprecedented times, to volunteer, donate, advocate for an organization, and to just simply lend a hand, is so important to me. It is amazing what a great group of people can do in moving lives forward.
